Admissions and Enrolment

We welcome applications from prospective students both nationally and internationally. We trust the information we provide enables you to make informed decisions whether one of our courses is right for you.

Our admissions criteria is compliant with Middlesex University’s Admissions Policy, the Home Office criteria for International Students studying on validated degree programmes and the requirements of the Nutritional Therapy Education Commission for applicants enrolled on courses leading to nutritional therapy practice.

We aim to be inclusive, fair and consistent in our approach to admitting students to our courses. From initial enquiry through to enrolment on a course we aim to provide applicants with what they need to know to inform their decision to study with us.

Following an enquiry you will be invited to attend an Online Open Day to find out more about our courses. Most applicants proceed direct to a course interview. You will be put in contact with a Course Interviewer who will arrange a time to meet with you for an online interview via Zoom.

The Course Interviewer will invariably let you know verbally at the end of the interview whether you have been offered a Conditional or Unconditional place on a course. Occasionally the Course Interviewer needs to seek guidance with other members of staff prior to confirming an offer of a place on the course.

Either way following interview the Course Interviewer will ask you to complete a course Application Form if you haven’t already done so. We recommend that you send a completed Application Form prior to interview.

If offered a place on a course you will be sent supporting documentation that must be completed and signed as part of accepting a course offer and this includes a Confirmation Agreement that includes Fitness to Study and Practice and a Practice Declaration form. You will also be sent a study plan, fees and finance plan, links to key policies, indicative extra course costs, and a reading list. You will have full access to our policies once enrolled as a student and can request the full policy document before enrolment.

You will be asked to submit evidence of prior qualifications and evidence of who you are and if English is your second language evidence of meeting English language requirements for the relevant course. We check qualifications of applicants as required including qualifications gained outside of the UK, for UK equivalency. Should information be identified after a student has started a course that is proven to be deliberately fraudulent, we would implement the process detailed in our Academic and Professional Misconduct policy. The enrolled student may be withdrawn from the course and would not be entitled to any refund of fees paid.

You will need to have made required payments ahead of enrolment. Enrolment and continued payment of fees is necessary in order to retain your access to student resources.

Once all relevant documentation has been received and initial fees paid you are ready to start the enrolment process. For many applicants this will be starting a bioscience entry module. Others may meet direct entry requirements to one of the degree programmes and ready to start at one of the next entry points which are January, April and September each year.

When you start on a degree programme you will be invited to attend a two-day Online Induction. Prior to Induction you will have been sent further documentation including a Programme Handbook. The following week your first lectures will commence.
