Human Biology Foundation Course

There are twelve modules in the Human Biology Foundation Course:

Module 1: The Cell, its Structures and Tissues plus an overview of the rest of the body systems
Module 2: The Digestive System
Module 3: The Liver
Module 4: The Cardiovascular System and Blood
Module 5: The Lymphatic and Immune Systems
Module 6: The Urinary System
Module 7: The Respiratory System
Module 8: The Integumentary System [Skin]
Module 9: The Musculo-Skeletal System
Module 10: The Nervous System
Module 11: The Endocrine System
Module 12: The Reproductive System

On receipt of application form and payment, you will be sent the following:

The recommended course text book
The course workbook for the module
A CD ROM with the course in Power Point plus links to viewers for Power Point if required.

Each course workbook includes:
relevant text book references
written short questions which are submitted to the tutor at the end of each module

Tutor support is available throughout the course and assessments will be returned with marks and comments.

You can submit your work unit by unit for feedback and assessment or you can send in several modules at once.

We recommend that you submit work on a regular basis rather than complete the whole course before receiving feedback.

As well as the Academic Course Tutor a Personal Mentor is also assigned to you who will keep in regular contact with you.

You will be awarded a Certificate on the successful completion of the Foundation Course.

Costs

The cost of each module is £42.55 + VAT [£50] and includes the cost of all materials and postage and packaging within the UK; overseas students will incur extra postage costs.

The fee for each module is payable in advance; modules may be ordered in blocks of three and paid for three at a time.

If all twelve modules are required, a 10% discount will be available to students who pay the full amount for twelve modules in advance.

The course material will also be available on-line in due course at this website but the course textbook will need to be posted and costs £25.99 to buy plus P&P.

The cost of each set of 3 modules as a refresher course is £60 inclusive of VAT.

Time Commitment

The Human Biology Foundation Course is expected to require approximately 90 hours to complete in total, the equivalent of 15 days at 6 hours per day. This includes reading and assignment time.
